Where to Use Floorgard Corry Board

Floorgard Corry Board works on both hard and soft floors. Its corrugated design cushions impact, providing protection even for fragile surfaces. The FR variant is all-round, especially for areas with higher fire risks.

Planning to use Floorgard Corry Board on-site or indoors during refurbishments or fit-outs? This temporary floor protection is versatile, but it helps to know where it works best. Used the right way, it will save you time and effort.

This guide goes over the recommended areas, along with tips on how to choose the right corry board for your project.

Floorgard Corry Board on Hard and Soft Surfaces

Hard surfaces, such as concrete, stone, tiles, and timber, can crack or chip under the weight of heavy boots, dropped tools, or equipment. Whereas soft floors like cushioned vinyl and carpet are prone to dents and marks. Floorgard Corry Board works for both with a range of thicknesses from 2mm up to 10mm.

If you only need 2mm but want something stronger, we recommend Floorgard Corry Board PLUS. It’s still lightweight and easy to work with but holds up better than the standard 2mm sheet without extra bulk.

Thicker options come in handy for areas with heavier foot traffic, wheeled equipment, or materials being moved around. Regardless, all thickness levels are suitable for hard and soft floors.

FR Floorgard Corry Board for Fire-Risk Areas

Wherever protection is needed, you can’t go wrong with the fire-retardant option, especially rooms or spaces in at-risk zones. That includes areas with ongoing electrical work, boiler rooms, or utility spaces with exposed wiring or heat sources, to name a few.

Floorgard FR Corry Board is certified by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB). It has undergone extensive testing and quality control measures for fire safety compliance.

On most sites, fire-retardant materials are part of the health and safety regulations, often specified by insurers and main contractors. With this product, you’ve got the certification to show it meets those standards. That’s one less thing for safety officers to question.

Protecting Fragile Surfaces (Even the Tricky Spots)

You can also use Floorgard Corry Board to protect surfaces like glass, ceramic, polished stone, and high-gloss finishes.

Say you’re working around kitchen counters, bathroom sinks, or glossed cabinets. Lay a sheet over granite or marble tops and tape it down with low tack tape or reinforced tape.

Cut the boards to size when working with awkward shapes. For instance, trim four pieces to cover the entire marble sink: one for the top, one for the front, and one for each side, creating a box-like fit.

Which Corry Board Thickness Works Best for You?
The Floorgard Corry Board range starts with 2mm–3mm, offering the smallest gap available. Next is the 4mm–6mm type, a step up with a sturdier cushioning effect. The 10mm option is the thickest and most heavy-duty, without the added bulk or weight.
